The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is continuing our investigation into a double homicide that occurred on January 28, 2021 at approximately 4:10 PM. Deputies responded to a residence in the 7100 block of Connecticut Dr. after receiving a call of a shooting. The reporting party, Kaleb Stein, 29 of Kingman, stated two adult males, Alois Vetter, 53, and a second male subject had come onto his property. The investigation revealed that Stein and Vetter began arguing about personal property. The verbal altercation escalated into an exchange of gunfire between Stein and Vetter inside the residence. Both Vetter and the second male subject were located deceased on the property.
The identity of the second subject was thought to be that of a 67 year old Golden Valley man, however the investigation revealed that the male subject had been using an alias. The male subject has been identified through an autopsy and fingerprints, however next-of-kin notifications have not yet been confirmed. Ballistics tests and lab samples have been sent off for analysis. The investigation is ongoing and once completed, it will be forwarded to the Mohave County Attorney’s Office for review.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday (1/28) north of Kingman. At approximately 4:10 PM, Deputies were called to a residence in the 7100 block of Connecticut Dr. in reference to a shooting. The reporting party, Kaleb Stein, 29 of Kingman, stated two adult males, Alois Vetter, 53, and a 67 year old male (name withheld due to pending next-of-kin notification) came onto his property. The parties involved got into a verbal altercation about personal property. The altercation escalated, and the two adult males were found to be deceased from gunshot wounds on the property.
Detectives responded and took over the investigation. Multiple handguns were recovered on scene. This investigation is ongoing.
