Evidence seized from MAGNET search warrant at a residence in Kingman.

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Operations Unit (T.O.U) executed a search warrant Monday (9/11) morning, at about 5:30 a.m., at a residence in the 1300 block of Suffock Avenue for the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (M.A.G.N.E.T), a HIDTA initiative, ending a one-month long joint investigation with M.A.G.N.E.T, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (A.T.F).

Upon arrival at the residence, MCSO TOU gave verbal announcements over a public address (P.A) system as well as had emergency lights activated on their patrol units. Once entry was made into the residence, the suspect Bruce Edward Christopher, 66, was taking cover behind his bed while attempting to chamber a round into his handgun. The gun malfunctioned and he was unable to fire any rounds at the entry team. A flash/sound diversionary device (FSDD) was used to disorient Christopher who still had the handgun and he was able to be arrested at that time.

During the search of the residence over 98 grams of methamphetamine, 40 grams of black tar heroin, 32 grams of powder brown heroin, 23 grams of powder cocaine, 4.5 grams of crack cocaine, 74 grams of marijuana and 2 additional hand guns were located. The street value for the drugs was over $20,000. It was learned during the search warrant that Christopher was cooking the powder cocaine into crack cocaine inside the residence. Christopher has an extensive criminal history and is a prohibited possessor of any firearms. One of the firearms was found to have the serial number ground off as well.

Christopher was booked into the Mohave County Jail on the following felony charges: possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, manufacturing narcotic drugs, possession of narcotic drugs, 3 counts of possessing a weapon by a prohibited possessor, possessing a defaced firearm, and 3 counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. More charges are pending.
